Purple City is a community-minded non-profit, and our success is fueled by thousands of volunteer hours put in by a very small core team year around.

Each September the team expands with the help of dedicated group of volunteers to bring thousands of people together in downtown Edmonton for a weekend of diverse, inclusive, and accessible music and arts programming.

This youth focused community centred event has become a vital part of the city’s cultural fabric, yet the operational costs of producing a festival continue to rise while grants and public funding are shrinking.
